Just a word to say thanks.
I feel like I've abandoned this post -
which is maybe a good thing.
This week, my medical leave turned back into the "regular" leave that I had initially planned to be on this fall.
And things feel relatively normal around here;
insofar as normal is a real thing.
We are back to making lunches,
back to to-do lists,
back to bending down to pick up my own dropped items on the floor.
We will have follow-ups - every 3 months post surgery for the first year.
A CT and a scope again at the 1 year mark,
and further follow-ups will be determined by what they find at that point.
I have 2 more months of time away from work to be more present at home,
which was my hope for the beginning of this school year.
I am looking forward to being more focused on my roles as mom and spouse,
and stepping back a bit from my role as teacher.
This is a good thing.
And hopefully a restful and growing thing - on all sorts of levels.
Thank you for walking this journey with me - with us.
We have been richly blessed by our community of people,
and it has not gone unnoticed how deeply loved and cared for we have been.
We are humbly grateful to God for His provision - not only of health and strength, but of people.
Thank you for being part of His provision for us.
Much love and appreciation to each of you.
This will be it for the time being.
My hope is to return here again sometime - but not with the intention of health updates.
Maybe just with a return to writing and reflecting.
We'll see.
One day at a time.
